PrismShare processes your content on your device. The native apps and Chrome extension do not send that content to Blue Heeler Software. The website collects only the tester signup information you choose to submit, as described below.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the PrismShare Android and desktop apps, the PrismShare Chrome extension, and prismshare.app.

Android and desktop apps

The native apps do not collect personal data, usage data, analytics, identifiers or diagnostics, and do not send data to Blue Heeler Software. The Android app does not request internet permission. Camera frames used to read PrismShare Codes are processed in memory on the device and discarded. The app takes no photographs and records no video. Received files are stored only where you choose to save them, and received audio is played without being retained by PrismShare.

Chrome extension

The extension handles only content you deliberately give it or ask it to read: text you enter, a file you choose, paste or drop, the current page URL, text you select on the current page, or a link or image you invoke through a PrismShare command. It does not read your browsing history or scan pages in the background.

If you ask the extension to fetch a file or image from a website, it requests access to that website for the fetch. The request goes directly from your browser to the address you selected, without cookies or other browser credentials. A permission granted for that fetch is removed when the fetch finishes. The source website will receive the ordinary connection information needed to answer the request, such as your IP address and browser details, under that website's own privacy policy.

Your selected content is encoded into PrismShare Codes locally. It is held in memory and, where needed to hand content to the display tab, in Chrome's session-only extension storage. That handoff is removed after the display loads and Chrome also clears session storage when the browser session ends. The extension does not upload your content, page URL, selections or files to Blue Heeler Software, and it uses no analytics, advertising or remote code.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

PrismShare's use and transfer of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Such information is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: turning content you choose into optical codes. It is not sold, used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or any unrelated purpose, and is not made available for humans at Blue Heeler Software to read.

The website

prismshare.app uses no cookies and no analytics. If you use the become a tester form, we collect the email address you submit and the submission time. We use them only to manage your Google Play test invitation and send relevant testing updates. The signup is stored in an access-restricted file outside the public website directory, and a notification containing the address is sent to Blue Heeler Software through the hosting email service.

Our hosting and email providers process the signup and may keep ordinary security and access logs, which can include an IP address, browser details, requested page and time. Blue Heeler Software does not use those logs to track or profile visitors. These providers, and Google when it operates Chrome, Chrome Web Store or Google Play, process information under their own policies and may do so outside Australia. Chrome Web Store may provide us with aggregate listing statistics, which do not contain the content you process with PrismShare.

Sharing, sale and automated decisions

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising or marketing by others, and we do not use it for automated decisions. Website signup information is disclosed only to service providers that operate the hosting and email functions, or when disclosure is required by law.

Retention and deletion

The native apps do not retain personal information for Blue Heeler Software. The extension's working data is transient as described above. We keep tester signup information until the testing programme ends or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Hosting and email providers may retain operational records under their own retention policies.

Security

The website uses HTTPS. Tester signups are kept outside the public website directory with restricted access. The extension keeps content on your device and does not send it to a developer-operated server. A file fetched from a third-party address uses the connection scheme in the address you chose; use HTTPS addresses for sensitive content.

Your choices and requests

You can choose not to use the tester form, page-reading commands or file-fetch feature. You can also review or revoke extension site access in Chrome. To ask what tester information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or make a privacy complaint, email xredux@protonmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

PrismShare is not directed at children. The apps and extension do not send personal information to Blue Heeler Software. If a child has submitted an email address through the tester form, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If PrismShare's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed feature is released and the effective date will change.
